The WWT Wetland Centre is a conservation area, opened in the year 2000 between Barnes and Putney. The centre provides a peaceful oasis for both wildlife and people in the heart of West London. Attractions include rare birds and otters.
Ajax has completed many important flooring projects for the Wetland Centre. We have also provided flooring solutions for Hides through the complex. We have also laid floors in the Kitchen, the Shop, and the Conservatory. Moreover, we have provided safety flooring for the staircases throughout the reserve.
The Wetland Centre commissioned Ajax flooring to cover 200sqm of floorspace in the conservatory. We laid Karndean 250mm x 1500mm looselay longboard oak coloured wood vinyl planks over the building’s existing floors.
We chose planks with a Natural Oak colour, due to it’s excellent combination of looks, safety and toughness. The vinyl planks complement the building and it’s surroundings perfectly.
We used the existing hard floors as a base. This means that there is little or no need for adhesives. Taking advantage of this method, we completed the process quickly and economically without compromising quality in any way.
